Please help us make December a Happy and Memorable
holiday season, for a few families in need.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina ripped through the Gulf Region with a power that was unstopable, untammed, and most of all very destructive. The people of the little shrimping town called Bayou La Batre in Alabama, one of the hardest hit area's, still have major devestation to deal with. Many people in the region struggle to rebuild thier homes with little or no insurance and those same people struggle to put thier lives back in order daily. The needs they have continue to be such that are overwhelming and the feeling of desperation continues. The people there often feel as though they are the forgotten town. What can we do about it you ask? Come December we plan to hand deliver as many gifts as we can for Christmas. It is our hope, that we can spread a little bit of piece of joy to a few families that may not be able to do this on thier own. Through a contact in Mobile, AL we are looking to several churches to give us specific needs in the Bayou La Batre area. It will be up to you and I to see that they get it.
If you have any questions as to what those needs are, or if you would like to assist in any way, please give us a call.
If you would like more information on this, or can help in any way, please contact:
After Hurricane Katrina hit, it was our thoughts that we needed to do something to assist these folks, no matter how big or small the effort, we had to do something. C.H. Robinson Worldwide branches in Springfield, MO and Mobile, AL joined forces with NYK Logistics in Springfield, MO. As a team we gathered donations from individuals as well as customers like Convoy of Hope and the Victory Mission of Springfield and put it all together to take to the Gulf Region for the Hurricane survivors. While my driving experience going down there was a bit shaky, due to the fact that there was only minimal fuel and power within 500 miles of the Gulf. By god's grace, we made it there and back. I was fortunate to get to spend a day and night with our friends from Convoy of Hope in Picayune, MS, helping hand out relief supplies to survivors. What an eye-opening experience. I still feel for these people, and have a special place in my heart for them, as most of them are still dispalced and working to regain the life they had. I look forward to hearing from you on this new mission we want to accomplish.......Christmas Joy.
